More Adventure on the Way!

PartnershipAdapted Physical Education, News & Events, State Convention

Arizona Health and Physical Education is working hard to bring the best possible virtual professional development we can. We are adding more sessions daily. We hope you will find all of our virtual sessions useful and something you can take back to your classroom, whether it be virtual, hybrid or live. Each session is still best practices in our field and we are honored to be able to bring them to you. As a reminder, sessions will be released on Friday, February 26, however, they will be available to all of those that have registered at your convenience through our Sched app. All paid attendees will receive an email with a link to Sched which will have each presenters page with any other resources they may provide as well as their video presentation. So, without further adieu, let’s take a look at the latest adventures!

Bri Anthony from SPARK will be showing us what is new with SPARK PE and their newest resources including SEL and physical distancing lessons with her session What’s New with SPARK PE? Southern District Health Teacher of the Year Mary McCarley and our friends from Goodheart-Willcox will present a session entitled 10 Ways to Create a SEL Skills-Based Health Classroom.  From Palos Sports we have Tim Taggart presenting Distance PE with Palos highlighting Palos’ innovative equipment. Tennis anyone? Kelsey Lawson with USTA-Southwest will be presenting Six Feet Apart and No Court Required which is an abbreviated version of a full school district workshop.

We have combined our Adapted Physical Education Conference with this virtual convention and we have outstanding sessions for you. Our very own current president Jennifer Houston and Rachel Shea are presenting a session highlighting the importance of inclusion with Including Students with Disabilities into your General Physical Education Class. We also have Lauren Lieberman from Camp Abilities presenting Universal Design For Physical Education as well as a session on the Lieberman/Brian Inclusion Rating Scale for Physical Education.

We are receiving video sessions almost daily so please look for more highlights to come. You all deserve content-specific professional development and we are here to provide it for you. If you need to register for the virtual conference please click the following link:    Registration Link

We look forward to seeing you all in person again soon so we can share all of our adventures!
