May 2023

Greetings Arizona Health and Physical Educators!

Ok, so I get that we are in the last month of school and the last thing you’re thinking about is professional development. Believe me, I get it. We’re all ready to put the equipment away (hopefully somewhat organized), submit those final progress reports or grades, and shut the gym, wrestling room, multipurpose room doors for at least 6ish weeks. I’m right there with you! But let’s be realistic. How much Netflix can one watch? I mean probably a lot, but let’s just say you get bored and start thinking about getting your stuff together for next school year. What’s a teacher on summer break to do?! How about some relevant professional development?! There are a plethora of great opportunities out there to expand your teaching knowledge with conferences, workshops, and online courses. Below is just a sample.

Elementary Physical Education Workshop in Pomona, California

Get out of the heat and head to Pomona, CA for the Elementary Physical Education Workshop, July 16th – 20th, with virtual sessions on Saturday July 15th.

The K-8 Elementary Physical Education Workshop (EPEW) is designed for classroom teachers, physical education specialists and school administrators who are interested in learning and/or sharing lesson ideas for teaching physical education at the K-8 level.

EPEW is dedicated to providing an outlet to all creative and inspirational teachers who wish to share their craft with anyone willing to grow as an educator. Many of our presenters have reputations as experts in the field of Physical Education. Along with opportunities for growth in areas such as the integration of standards, assessment, technology and much more; EPEW provides everyone with the opportunity to network with teachers from not only all over the United States but also the world!
We pride ourselves in not being a “California only” conference. Participants from every state in the union as well as every country in the globe are welcomed to attend! Presenters have even come from all over the world to present their unique ideas to our participants. We hope that you can join us to rejuvenate your teaching skills and re-energize your program for the upcoming year.
