Kindness Can Overcome Bullying

With Thanksgiving coming right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to remember and share all the parts of life that you appreciate. Did you know gratitude can even prevent bullying for youth? A safe and supportive environment, like a positive school climate, has been shown to prevent bullying, and kindness is one of the biggest factors in a positive school climate. When kids are kind to one another, it not only makes others happier, but it can also help kids build social connections that protect them from bullying behavior. School staff, parents, and caregivers who model how to treat students with kindness and respect help prevent bullying. One great way to model kindness for youth is to practice gratitude.
